Increasing Internet Bandwidth in windows XP
Windows XP by default allocates 20% of your bandwidth to Quality of Service. Which is not required for the desktop. You can remove this or reduce this value as follows:- Go to Start Menu -> Run
- Type gpedit.msc and press [Enter] key
- This will open Group Policy Editor
- In this navigate to Computer Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> Network -> QoS Packet Scheduler
- Now double click on Limit Reservable Bandwidth
- Make this Enabled
- Change bandwidth limit to 0 (Zero) and click OK
Above configuration will give effective improvement in your bandwidth.
